In her fourth year as a member in the Symphonic Band and her second year serving as first chair, Charlsie Bondy is quite an accomplished flutist! Principal Flutist and Librarian in the Langham Creek High School Symphonic Band, Charlsie is presently a senior and will soon be attending the University of Houston to study music education under Mr. Tom Bennett. She was recently accepted into the Honors College and offered an Academic Achievement Scholarship. Charlsie studies with Dr. Kimberly Walter-Clark, Adjunct Professor of Flute at San Jacinto College. She has always been successful in Regional, Area, and State competitions since being in high school. A member of the Region Band all four years and Region Orchestra twice, Charlsie always placed above the 8th chair level. She advanced to Area three times, and was successful at the All-State level in 1999 and 2001, placing 32nd and 11th in the state of Texas. Charlsie performed in many master classes with well-known artists. Some of these include Keith Underwood, Hanoch Tel-Oren, and John Thorne. She is a featured musician in a recital with Mr. Gary Schocker on March 24. Charlsie's Senior Recital is tentatively scheduled for May 12. She will perform JS Back's Sonata in C Major, the Poulenc Sonata, Gluck's "Dance of the Blessed Spirits", and Schocker's "Three Dances", a duet with Dr. Kimberly Walter-Clark.
