Communication

Introduction

This section addresses communication and how we try to keep information flowing to parents.

Communication Methods

In a large organization such as this, communication is essential to keep everyone up to date on activities and responsibilities. Look for the following communications:

Monthly Schedule – each month, the Directors publish a schedule, which is sent home with your band student. This schedule contains valuable information for parents as well as students. Look for this schedule early each month. If your student doesn’t volunteer to share it with you, ask to see it.

Booster Club Newsletter – the Booster Club issues a newsletter several times each year. These are mailed to your home. We attempt to highlight key information and important dates in the newsletter.

Automated Telephone Message – The Booster Club has an automated dialing machine that communicates key information on a timely basis. If your phone rings with "An important message from the Langham Creek Band," please listen to it. See a booster club officer for more information about the Automated Telephone Message System

E-mail – The Booster Club will communicate key information via E-mail to all parents who furnish us with an E-mail address. If you’re not getting band information via E-mail, but would like to, please send a note to president@loboband.com and we’ll add you to the distribution list.

Practice Schedules

All band students are given a practice and performance schedule at the beginning of each month. Students should be sharing this information with parents. Even with the best of planning, there will be some "last-minute" schedule changes to deal with "external factors." Please be understanding and supportive.

Automated Telephone Message System The Booster Club has an automated dialing machine that communicates key information on a timely basis. We have found that this is the most effective way to communicate key information quickly. Please note the following:
Description
If your phone rings with "An important message from the Langham Creek Band," please listen to it.
It is very important to press "9" and listen to the message. Otherwise, the automated machine will call you again.
If you are receiving multiple copies of the message, your answering machine fails to record the message, or have other difficulties, please contact any Booster Board member.

Do not try to call back to the phone number that calls you. This is a computer modem phone line and is not connected to a phone; no one can answer if you call.
