Super Sneak-Preview Sunday

Football's Super Bowl Sunday may already be a memory, but the Band's "Super Sneak-Preview Sunday" is coming up on Sunday, March 25! "Sneak-Preview Sunday" begins with the Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction at 1:00 PM, then an exciting performance of the Winter Guard's current show at 2:30 PM, followed by exciting sneak-preview concerts of their UIL contest music by each of the LCHS bands beginning at 3:00 PM. Please plan now to attend all of the festivities! And remember to invite grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors and friends!

Spaghetti Dinner details…Enclosed with this newsletter is an invitation and order form for advance purchase tickets for the dinner. Prices are $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. Tickets purchased at the door are $8.00 for anyone. Place your completed order form and payment in the lock box. Additional forms are available in the Band Hall. Advance ticket deadline is Wednesday, March 21. See letter for additional details.

Silent Auction details…The fund-raising committee has gathered up some really fun and exciting silent auction items! Along with several local business and restaurant gift certificates, more unusual items like a compact refrigerator, bread maker and shelf stereo system are up for auction. We are currently seeking additional donations! If you or your business can donate an unusual (or not so unusual!) item that will bring in lots of money (or just a little money!), please contact our Treasurers, Kathleen & Charles Thomas. They will be happy to put you in touch with Caroline Winkler who is our Auction Coordinator.

Winter Guard Contest Results

Langham Creek's Winter Guard is enjoying a successful contest season. On February 17, Winter Guard placed 4th in a circuit contest at Cy Falls High School. The following weekend was an exciting and demanding one that began with an area competition on Friday night at Katy High School. They placed 1st in their division. On Saturday, February 24, the members of the Guard participated in their first Winter Guard International (WGI) competition and wowed the crowd and the judges from all over the United States. They placed 3rd in their division in the semi-finals. It earned them a spot in the finals that night, and after performing a "dropless" show (not a single flag, rifle or saber was dropped!), they placed 9th out of 31 very competitive teams.

Congratulations, Winter Guard!

Parent Volunteers Needed for Spring Festivals and Contests!

If You Don't Call Us …
We will call you! Can you help? Spring contest season is upon us and parent volunteers are needed for several events in March and April. Each of these events gives you an opportunity to don your Lobo Band shirt and show off your gracious hospitality to Houston-area band directors by acting as parent escorts, Green Room attendants, parking attendants and concessionaires! We have received many warm compliments from visiting band directors in past years. On March 24 (and tentatively, on March 31), LCHS will host the Northwest Houston Band Festival. On March 29, the Symphonic pre-UIL contest will be held at LCHS. On April 21, LCHS will be the site for the actual Symphonic UIL Concert and Sight Reading contests. Certainly one of these dates works for you, and hours are negotiable! Recruit a spouse or friend and volunteer together; it's even more fun! We need approximately 35 parents on 3/24, 12 on 3/29, and 25 on 4/21.
